Destructive fishing puts oceans into a 'death spiral'

The ecological balance in the seas around the UK is meant to be safeguarded by a series of ‘Marine Protected Areas’, which are special conservation zones designed to protect habitats.

But the environmental pressure group Greenpeace has warned that destructive fishing practices are widespread.

Now environmentalists are taking it upon themselves to patrol some of the UK’s coastline.
