A Christmas surprise just hit YouTube and we’ve grabbed the popcorn. After nearly nine months of silence and a low profile, Olivia Jade has returned to her Youtube channel. So what DID she say about the now infamous college cheating scandal revolved around her mother Lori Loughlin? Not a whole bunch.What’s up guys, I’m Sussan Mourad with Clevver News and this tea is too good after a little holiday break. So let’s get right to it! If you were looking for some sort of info on the now infamous college cheating scandal, well… that’s all Olivia Jade gave us in her short return to Youtube. The influencer posted a two minute video titled “Hi Again” and didn’t really give her fans a whole lot of info. Not about the scandal, not about her life or what she’s been doing the last several months. Instead, Olivia kept it simple giving her fans and trolls the reason she decided to return.Olivia also expressed wanting to basically put everything that’s happened behind her. And that’s pretty much it. Like we said, this was a short video uploaded to Olivia’s channel with presumably more to come. Alright, before we jump into the nitty gritty of the college cheating scandal, what did Olivia’s fans think of this return? The video racked up more than a million hits and counting within the first few hours, and surprisingly, Olivia left the comment section on. Many of her videos and even her instagram posts have comments disabled. But more than 20 thousand people were able to leave their opinions on the newest video and well…. Most of the comments weren’t great. So while we wait to see what sort of content Olivia will be posting onto Youtube while not being able to talk about what people REALLY want to know… What’s going on with the Varsity Blues scandal anyway?You’ll remember earlier this year, Olivia’s parents, actress Lori Loughlin and her father, designer Mossimo Giannulli, were tangled in a college admission cheating ring where they, and many other well off parents, basically bribed their children into elite universities. For Olivia and her sister, Isabella, the school was the University of Southern California, where they were allegedly admitted onto the college’s rowing team despite never having played the sport.Another celebrity caught up in the scandal was Desperate Housewives’, Felicity Huffman. She admitted her involvement and was sentenced to 14 days in jail, which she served a portion of back in October. But Olivia Jade’s parents have pleaded NOT guilty to bribing their daughters’ way into USC. Allegedly, they paid 500,000 to a fake charity to ensure admission, a charge that could land them in prison for 45 years.
While the actress and designer await their fate, both Olivia and Isabella have kept a low profile. Neither one are currently enrolled at USC. For Olivia, who had a budding career as an influencer, the fall out has been particularly rough. Sephora promptly ended their partnership with the beauty Youtuber shortly after the world learned of the cheating scandal. Fashion brand Lulus followed suit. And, of course, she lost thousands of followers. So will those followers and sponsors return now that Olivia is seemingly back for business? It’s tough to say… On instagram, she posted screen grab of the youtube posting and there’s quite a few people who seem genuinely happy for her return. Many left the heart emoji and “i love you” in the comment section.
But there were plenty of people on Twitter who were put off by Olivia not apologizing in the video.
