PM refuses to apologise over Owen Paterson sleaze row

Boris Johnson has declined to apologise for his handling of the Owen Paterson lobbying scandal.

When asked about whether he’d like to offer an apology, the Prime Minister said: “I don’t think there’s much more to be said about that particular case, I really don’t.”

Mr Paterson resigned as a Conservative MP after Downing Street U-turned on an attempt to stop him being hit with a 30-day Commons suspension for breaking lobbying rules.
