We are about to lose our minds over a potential collab that absolutely needs to happen. Are you ready for it… Lizzo and Rihanna! And it looks like it could actually be a thing.
What’s up? It’s Erin Robinson here with Clevver News and we are feeling “good as hell” right now because Rihanna is more than ready to collaborate with Lizzo. She said so herself!
Before her Savage (BY) x Fenty lingerie fashion show during New York Fashion Week, Rihanna revealed to Entertainment Tonight that she’d love to collaborate with Lizzo.
Somebody pinch me because I think all of my dreams are coming true.
Ok ok I have to admit, it sounds like Rihanna wants to collab with Lizzo on her brand, but hey, that could lead to some potential music together right?
Rihanna continued to rave on about Lizzo.
She said Lizzo is quote, “A confident woman, no matter what size, color, shape. Your attitude is what makes you savage. It’s the confidence that you have in yourself and it’s the confidence that you can give off to people who look like you and feel like you and those are the people that identify with the brand.”
And the love is very much reciprocated.
Lizzo posted the interview to her Instagram and wrote quote, “*sets up a studio in my coochie* READY FOR OUR COLLAB SIS ? @badgalriri”
And celebs and fans alike are loving Lizzo’s post! They are flooding the comment section begging for this collab as much as we are.
Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness said quote, “Collaborate on the lights ? love”
And a fan wrote quote, “?? the collab we all need but don’t deserve”
Preach.
But this isn’t the first time Lizzo and Rihanna have fangirled over each other.
At the end of last month, Lizzo also spoke to Entertainment Tonight about her love for Rihanna and how Riri has even slid into her DMs!
And both Lizzo and Rihanna are no strangers to a good collab.
Rihanna has basically collaborated with everyone from Drake to Coldplay to Nicki Minaj to Calvin Harris to Paul McCartney… literally everyone.
And Lizzo recently collaborated with Charli XCX on ‘Blame It On Your Love’ which was a total bop.
But Lizzo said she isn’t going to bother Rihanna, she wants to let it happen naturally.
She said quote, “I am not going to bother her, ’cause I know what that feels like, so I am going to let her do what she ought to do. I love Rihanna.”
And based on what Rihanna just said it looks like the time has come for a collab maybe even on her next Savage x (BY) Fenty line.
But until then we are still gushing over Rihanna’s latest collection that she just debuted at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Tuesday.
And this was not your average fashion show.
Riri created a full dance show to unveil her latest lingerie designs. Because she’s Rihanna and you’ve gotta admit it, no one works harder than her.
Ok fine, maybe Kris Jenner, but Rihanna is killing it right now.
Earlier this summer Forbes named Rihanna the richest woman in music with her net worth coming in over $600 million.
Anyway, the fashion show, which is jam-packed with musical performances, will air on Amazon Prime Video on September 20th and you better believe I will be watching.
But if you’re like me and you’re just wondering when… if ever… we’re gonna get some new music from Rihanna well… she did sort of talk about it recently.
In the same interview where she talked about collaborating with Lizzo she went off about her new music.
She went on and said quote, “y’all gonna have to wait Navy I’m so sorry.”
For now she is laser focused on her clothing line.
She told ET that she is VERY involved in every step of the process.
Riri said quote, “Oh my God I’m too involved. I want a break but I’m a control freak so I do everything. I see everything. There’s not one step of the way, there’s not one lace trim, there’s not one bra strap, there’s not one hardware color, there is not one bow on a panty that I do not see and approve.”
So I know Rihanna is busy, like really busy, but here’s to hoping that a collab with Lizzo is being added to her to-do list.
