Royals set off on tour to thank pandemic heroes

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have set off on their national tour to thank communities and individuals for their efforts during the coronavirus pandemic.

William and Kate arrived in Edinburgh first, where they met ambulance staff before travelling to West Yorkshire to meet volunteers from the Batley Community Centre who supported elderly members of the community throughout the pandemic by sending cards, having regular phone calls and dropping off shopping and parcels.
