http://youtu.be/-d4znJh6adU

Terrifying scenes showing heavy rain and hurricane-force winds hitting Marshalltown, Iowa with top speeds up to +200 km/h in August 2020. The footage reminds of an opening scene in an horror movie.

The severe weather event happened when a derecho hit Marshalltown, Iowa on August 10, 2020. The winds reached top speeds equivalent to a category 4 hurricane and destroyed many residential and commercial properties, as corn and soybean fields. The damage was catastrophic and cleanup remains ongoing (find out more here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/August_2020_Midwest_derecho).

A derecho is a widespread, long-lived, straight-line wind storm that is associated with a fast-moving group of severe thunderstorms. Derechos can cause hurricane-force winds, tornadoes, heavy rains, and flash floods (find out more here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derecho).

The video has been filmed by Mr. Jason Larry Wegner out of his car.
