Scooter Braun SKIPPING The AMAs In The Wake Of Taylor Swift Feud!!

Taylor Swift has won the rights to perform any of her songs she chooses as she accepts the Artist of the Decade award at the AMA’s this Sunday, and history shows that she’s not going to take that trophy without a few harsh words about Scooter Braun and their ongoing feud over her music. But the music manager is getting as far away from the drama as possible — as in an entire country away.

What’s up guys, I’m Sussan Mourad with Clevver News and Scooter Braun has decided showing his face at the American Music Awards on Sunday night just isn’t a good idea. And ya know… that just might be the best move.

Sources told TMZ that Scooter is NOT attending this week’s award show and that he never planned to. Instead, he’ll be in Tampa, Florida supporting one of his hugely successful artists, Ariana Grande.

Which I guess means Ari isn’t attending the show either despite the fact she’s nominated in the top category, Artist of the Year. Bummer!!

But back to the more pressing matter: Scooter is going to be a no show, and like we said, that’s probably for the best. The manager isn’t exactly the most well loved person in the music industry right now… especially with Swifties.

And as we know, the 2019 AMAs are a BIG SHOW for Taylor as she is nominated for “Artist Of The Decade” award!

Scooter has reportedly even been getting death threats from overzealous fans via social media, email, and text message — which for the record is NOT cool, whatsoever. Such threats take matters WAY too far.

So Scooter’s sitting this one out.

But if you think this will stop Taylor from speaking out on the battle, you haven’t been paying attention. Using an award show stage to express her feelings on issues that are important to her is pretty much the singer’s signature boss babe move.

Remember when she won Video of the Year at the MTV VMA’s earlier this year? The “You Need To Calm Down” singer used that platform to take a shot at President Trump and the fight for LGBTQ+ rights in Washington. She referenced a petition that supports the Equality Act.

Backing up a bit, remember when Taylor was feuding with Kanye West over the “made that ___ famous,” line in his song, “Famous?”

Refresh: Taylor told us that she didn’t approve of Kanye using that particular line in his song, and furthermore, was upset that he took credit for her self-earned notoriety. And she used the Grammys stage in 2016 to share her thoughts on the matter.

Ok, we had to go back to the vault for this one, but what seems like a lifetime ago in 2012, Taylor won a Grammy for Best Country Solo Performance for her song “Mean,” and, yet again, used her time on stage to take a shot at people who had wronged her.

And well… To say that Scooter is being “Mean” to Taylor right now is putting it mildly despite his “Kindess is the only response” post on instagram this week.

So you better believe as she accepts the well deserved Artist of the Decade Award come Sunday, we’ll most likely have yet another moment of Taylor taking a stand on an award show stage against an enemy that’s wronged her.

I mean, she certainly has PLENTY to chat about.

Up until just a few days ago, we thought that Taylor may not be able to perform any of her classic hits. No ‘Love Story,’ no “Teardrops on My Guitar” or “Mean.” No “Shake It Off.” Nothing from her first six albums because those master songs now belong to Scooter after he purchased her former record label Big Machine.

In fact, according to a lengthy letter posted on social media, Taylor claimed Scooter was barring her from performing those songs unless she 1) agreed to NOT re-record her masters next year, and 2) stopped talking about him to the public.

Ok, we’re DYING to know what you make of all this drama? Do you think Scooter is doing the right thing by getting as far away from the AMA’s as humanly possible? Or do you think he should show up and face Taylor?

And let’s speculate on what Ms. Swift might say during that speech on Sunday? Do you think she’ll call out Scooter by name – even though that’s usually not her style – or keep it coy?
