All that “maybe” drama between Bella Hadid and Selena Gomez is seemingly over! And thank goodness! We like these two better as friends anyway! The singer is now defending the model after Bella deleted an instagram photo Selena commented on.
What’s up guys, I’m Sussan Mourad with Clevver News and InstaGate 2019 has come to an end. Nothing to see here, according to Selena.
Ok, backing up a bit…. Our girl sel was taking a page out of her lyric book and was killin’ any beef with Bella Hadid with kindness! Over the weekend, Selena commented on an Insta photo of Bella writing “stunning” along with the heart eye emoji.
But Bella promptly deleted the post, making fans think she was dissing Selena. You’ll remember, the two weren’t exactly BFF’s considering Selena dated The Weeknd in 2017 during one of his and Bella’s many times apart.
Fans immediately thought Bella was put off my Selena’s kindness, and the singer seemed to agree. One fan account wrote: “She’s all about supporting women. You all just can’t take it nicely. Btw Ms. Hadid deleted the post.”
Selena actually responded to that post writing, “That sucks” with the crying face emoji.
Now fast forward to today. Like we said, the whole thing seems to be a big misunderstanding. There’s seemingly no bad blood between Bella and Selena.
In fact, TMZ reported that the two actually had a conversation following all the news of their beef. Instead, the model simply deleted the photo because she didn’t like it.
I mean, we’ve all done that!
And Selena took the reconciliation one step further by addressing her fans on the matter.
Remember the “that sucks” comment? Well, the singer went back to the fan account to clarify the whole debacle.
“NO. I shouldn’t of spoken without knowing the truth. I’m sorry. Please don’t be hurtful. She is a wonderful person, and it was all a misunderstanding.”
And just like that, feud over! Although to be fair…. Bella STILL hasn’t followed Selena back on instagram, but we’re just gonna chalk that up to semantics.
Like we said, we like these two better as friends, and to be honest, they probably have a lot in common, cause let’s face it: Bella can CERTAINLY relate to Selena’s hit single, “Lose You To Love Me.”
We all know that now number one hit was about Selena airing her truth in watching her one time boyfriend, Justin Bieber, quickly fall in love with someone else. She endured that heartache privately and waited until the right time to share her feelings.
Bella pretty much had to do the same thing when her ex boyfriend, The Weeknd, was in a highly publicized relationship with Selena. Bella, much like Selena, stayed REAL quiet during the months Abel and the singer dated, but we imagine it couldn’t have been a fun thing to witness from afar. Especially with photos like this one literally everywhere. Ya’ll remember….
Plus, Bella and The Weeknd clearly still had feelings for each other during this time. After Selena and Abel’s romance fizzled, the model and singer were spotted together two weeks later and have been dating on and off ever since — going on four years now!
So we bet Bella related quite a bit to Selena’s “Lose You To Love Me.” Ok granted…. Selena was the Hailey Bieber in that scenario, but water under the bridge! Everyone has moved on!
Especially Selena who just celebrated her first ever number one hit and is looking forward to the next phase of her life, and that includes love…
Of course, that includes her career too. Selena is ready to share her next album with the world!
Ok, but honestly, Bella and Selena are too powerful and successful to be worrying about petty Instagram drama over a BOY anyway. We’re glad the feud turned out to be a misunderstanding.
But, we do want to hear from YOU on this matter!
