While we’re still waiting on some new Selena Gomez music, which she has promised us is coming soon, it looks like Selena might be working on a new project now too.
What’s up? It’s Sussan Mourad here with Clevver News and Selena Gomez was just spotted at her old middle school in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Why is this newsworthy you may be asking yourself… well, I’m going to get to that! But Grand Prairie holds a special place in Sel’s heart and like her lyrics go… “the heart wants what it wants.”
Keep that in mind as we go through this story!
And while she was dressed casually for the visit, rocking an over-sized t-shirt and shorts, fans think she was shooting a documentary because she came with a camera crew.
And obviously Selenators at the school documented Selena’s visit on social media stirring up even more hype around this documentary theory.
She’s even seen in a video here saying that she may have gotten in trouble, but she still got good grades.
Selena also posed for pics with some of the teachers and students in between working on whatever she was working on.
She was also spotted visiting her old house while she was in town.

Ugh same though.
But anyway, I have to wonder, why would Selena be visiting her hometown with a camera crew?
Could this potential documentary have something to do with her new music that reportedly should be released before the end of this year?
At the end of last month, Selena acknowledged our impatience waiting for her upcoming album by sharing Instagram stories of herself in the studio.
She wrote quote, “just so you know, I see your comments, and I’m working on it…”
And Entertainment Tonight reported in July that fans can expect some songs before 2020.
So that’s like really soon, we’re already in September, where you at Selena?
A fan on Twitter pretty much captured my entire mood with this tweet.
They wrote quote, “Taylor Swift, Camila Cabello, Kelsea Ballerini, Have/are releasing new music in the now. Now tell me….WHERE IS SELENA GOMEZ’s ALBUM??????????????????”
That GIF pretty much sums it up.
And another fan who is VERY ready for new music wrote quote, “I have been a diehard Selena fan for a long time! ever since Wizards! I think that she is extremely beautiful and is amazing! I can not wait for her new music to come out! I love her so much and hope she is doing amazing in life @selenagomez”
And the source also told ET that quote, “Selena has been working on new music and plans to release some this year. The new music is going to be a different side of Selena and very personal. Selena has gone through a lot over the years and is ready to share it with the world.”
Selena herself even told Jimmy Fallon in June that the album was finished.
We are ready Selena, I am not sure how much longer I can wait for this and I’m not sure why you are holding out on us!
But we know Selena has been a lot more private recently so I’m kind of not surprised that she hasn’t told us anything about a release date yet.
This summer she has spent a lot of time vacationing with her friends giving me total trip envy at all these dreamy destinations.
And we’ve mostly been keeping up with what she’s up to via her friend’s Instagram pages.
So now I have to follow like 6 other accounts on top of Selena Gomez to follow what’s going on in my girl’s life.
But I’d follow 100 if I had to keep up Sel.
Anyway, just a couple days ago before she headed down to Texas, she attended a family birthday party for her close friend Raquelle Stevens’ mom.
Obviously Selena looked stunning and summery in her yellow dress.
It’s about time we got to see some of her summer fashion and I’m so here for it.
And while Selena seems to be spending a lot of time with her very normie girl squad, which I am totally here for, she is still going strong with her very famous friends.
Earlier this week, Selena fangirled over her long time BFF Taylor Swift’s new album.
Over the weekend Selena posted about Taylor’s new album Lover for the first time since it came out.
She hopped on Instagram stories to praise her bestie on the release of Lover saying quote, “You’re just… unreal dude @taylorswift” with a screenshot of the title track.
Which is just a part of Selena being a little more active on social media, which could be a sign that the new music is coming soon.
OK That might be a stretch, but I am just really excited about her new album.
