Sen. Laphonza Butler sworn in to replace late California Sen. Dianne Feinstein

After meeting with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Laphonza Butler was sworn in to represent the people of California as the newest member of the U.S. Senate.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom selected Butler, a Democratic strategist and former adviser to Kamala Harris to fill the U.S. Senate seat made vacant by the death of Sen. Dianne Feinstein.
