Shawn Mendes is apologizing to fans after some “unintentional” rudeness.
Hey everyone, it’s Emile Ennis Jr. here with Clevver News and looks like Shawn Mendes may be singing “Treat You Better” to his fans after being what some fans are calling rude during a recent Q&A with fans.
On Saturday, during a tour stop in Tampa Florida, Shawn answered some fan questions. When one fan asked him what inspired him to write the song, “Senorita” featuring his rumored new fling Camila Cabello, his reaction was less than flattering.
Is it getting cold in here or was that just the chill Shawn left behind after that question?
Fans took to Twitter to express their rage after the encounter.
Twitter user Dionne posted,
“that was a perfectly normal question, if he was implying that it’s about his relationship with camila, the song in his words was written 11 months ago?? when camila was in a relationship? if that’s what he was implying? he kinda played himself?”
Another fan commented,
“that’s kinda rude that’s like a genuine question I’d be so disappointed if he just left like that jskdjd”
After all the outrage, Shawn finally commented to explain his behavior.
“Hey! There was no bad intention here,” Shawn wrote on Sunday morning. “If you were there you would have known it was the last question & that’s why I decided to turn it into a light hearted funny goodbye! Sorry if that upset anyone, I adore you guys! No need for any negativity. ❤️”
He followed up the apology with an “I love you guys” but as of now the apology appears gone from his Twitter page with only “I love you guys” left in its place.
Not sure what the shade is here, but sometimes a little bit of shade keeps life interesting.
Now we just need Shawn to confirm his relationship with Camila and all will be right with the world.
