It’s one year since the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis – and just weeks since the conviction of former police officer Derek Chauvin for his death.
Events are planned across America to remember Mr Floyd, and to reiterate calls for racial justice.
But what progress has been made in the UK? Has anything really changed?
Sky News asked Stuart Lawrence, whose brother Stephen Lawrence who was murdered in a racist killing in London in 1993 – to reflect on the impact of the Black Lives Matter movement in the UK in the past 12 months.
