Ever dreamt about walking on diamonds? Then head to Nördlingen, Germany, a city that is covered in 72,000 diamonds, although they are microscopic and can't be seen. It was built inside a meteorite impact crater. The unique geological history gives the town its distinctive circular layout and some buildings are constructed from the local impact rock. While diamonds have incredible hardness, they are not used to build entire cities. Nordlingen's allure lies in its rich history, picturesque surroundings, and the fascinating story of its geological formation.
