Tom Tugendhat says he doesn’t believe the Taliban has changed since its brutal rule in the 1990s and any talks with them will not be meaningful.
Describing it as a “mob-based” group, the chairman of the foreign affairs committee said it is “more like the mafia than a government” and should be treated as such.
“They’re still as brutal and vicious as they were,” he told Trevor Phillips On Sunday.
