The thought of ever saying goodbye to Youtube brings tears to Tati Westbrook’s eyes, as the reality of her needing to scale back is much harder than she thought.
What’s up guys, it’s Sussan Mourad back here on Clevver News, and seriously, just as difficult as it is for us to wrap our head around the idea of Tati Westbrook, AKA, one of YouTube’s biggest makeup gurus, potentially shooting her very last video one day, it seems Tati struggles with that idea even more…
I mean, think about it… it’s like if Ariana Grande sang her very last concert. Ok, so I probably shouldn’t go THAT far, but you see what I’m getting at.
It’s quite an emotional week for Tati, who’s been struggling with the decision to step back from creating video content on YouTube, to focus on her expanding beauty brand as it moves forward.
The 37-year-old just launched her very own Tati Beauty line last month, and with the crazy demand for her products, along with the record speed selling out of the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Volume 1 palette, Tati’s YouTube presence may need to be put on hold, because let’s face it: the girl can only take on so much.
Tati sat down with Entertainment Tonight for an exclusive interview, where she began to tear up just at the thought of saying goodbye to her precious baby… AKA the platform that started it all.
Is there something in the air or did you guys also tear up at the sight of Tati crying?
Now would probably be a good time to let you all know that Tati then went on to admit that she’s not entirely leaving the platform and wouldn’t be someone that stops all together.
For Tati YouTube is where it all started. She said, “I literally get really messed up and emotional and the tears find their way.”
She went on to say QUOTE, “It’s hard work sometimes to continue to put out content and to do it well. Even on the challenging days, I have to remember where I started and that was like some type of spiritual contract that I have with myself throughout this is that I will never turn my back on my audience. They gave me this, you know?”
After all, the fans and even the feedback (good or bad) from fans, is what keeps the YouTube makeup industry thriving.
She said, “Products are way better! Everybody knows that if they make a crappy product, someone is going to slaughter it. It’s just, everything has to be up here now and I think that is so great.”
Tati also revealed that although she knew her success was not exactly “normal”, she knew that one day it would come.
She said, “I really believed in what I was doing and that’s what really allowed me to push forward. I think that’s been such an important lesson for me because I feel in a way that so long as I keep going, that is what’s going to matter.”
Annnnd it seems that Tati is also putting all of the drama between other YouTubers and their competing beauty lines that went down over the past year completely behind her, and is focusing on what’s important.
When asked about her competition, she said QUOTE, “Let’s just get back to what this is about. We all love makeup, let’s focus on that, because this just kind of blew up into this crazy like, ‘I’m better!’ ‘No, I’m better!’ ‘No, look at me, no, look at my numbers! I feel like people are just tuning in more with what it really should be and it feels really good.”
Yeahhh, something tells me Tati Westbrook isn’t going anywhere, so we can all take a breath of fresh air, y’all.
