So… The Office is being taken off of Netflix and this news is just too big for me…. That’s what she said.

What’s up guys? It’s Sussan Mourad here with Clevver News and this is not a drill, the Office is leaving Netflix!!!!

When I heard and read this news, I thought to myself, no this can’t be true, this has to be another one of those awful rumors right?

But sadly I was wrong, the rumors were true.

Yesterday, Netflix tweeted this quote, “We’re sad that NBC has decided to take The Office back for its own streaming platform — but members can binge watch the show to their hearts’ content ad-free on Netflix until January 2021.”

Which, while the state of panic we are all in is completely valid, we DO still have time to binge all nine seasons over the next year and a half.

I mean, jeez, I’ll probably watch it like 5 whole times through before then.

But of course, all this tragic news left us with questions.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC Universal got the rights to The Office back after outbidding Netflix. They will be paying $100 million a year to have the series on their new streaming platform.

And we aren’t the only ones freaking out over this, even celebrities are torn up over the news.

Netflix’s very own Lana Condor commented on the news saying quote, “What is this travesty? Is there a dislike button?”

I couldn’t agree more, Lana.

And Rainn Wilson who played Dwight posted this tribute to the show on his Instagram story.
And even other publications are getting involved. Paper Magazine wrote quote, “how much money to make this not happen? Asking for a friend.”

Apparently $100 million a year… that’s how much money.

And we’re still unsure what other NBC shows may also leave Netflix when their streaming platform launches, but gems like ‘Parks and Recreation’ and ‘Friends’ were both originally NBC shows too.

So, we’re just out here trying to stay strong.

And in case they all leave Netflix and you don’t want to purchase another subscription service, hey there’s always free content right here on YouTube.

You can stream all the Daily Hollywood Rundowns and Rumor Patrols you want, we promise we aren’t going anywhere this time round.

So this news hit a lot of us pretty hard at Clevver… and we need friends at this pity party, so join us in the comments section below and grovel with me!
