Trans worker fired after confronting woman who misgendered her at Starbucks | NY Post

A transgender woman has been fired by Starbucks after a video emerged showing her arguing with a female customer and allegedly grappling with the man filming the incident. The police have since launched a probe for an alleged assault.

The confrontation took place late last month at a Starbucks branch near the ferry terminal of Southampton, Hampshire, and is now garnering the attention of millions of social media users.

The 56-second clip starts with the female customer shouting: “Don’t ever call me transphobic! Ever! You do not know me!”

The Starbucks employee, who’s on the same side of the counter as the enraged customer, replies: “You’re calling me a man. You’re being transphobic, Karen, now get out.”

After referring to the customer as “Karen” — a social media stereotype that has evolved into a type of insult towards white women who have a bone to pick — the altercation heats up further.
