The clip, posted on the White House’s X account, even included Carpenter’s own lyrics: “Have you ever tried this one” and “bye bye.” Naturally, Carpenter wasn’t having it, tweeting that the video was “evil and disgusting” and demanding her music not be used to push what she called an “inhumane agenda.” Fans instantly took her side, flooding social media with comments like “SUE THEM QUEEN” and urging her to take legal action. Some pointed out, though, that her label Island Records owns the masters, which could complicate a lawsuit.

The internet isn’t impressed.
