Virginity Test: ‘I was treated worse than an animal’

Virginity Test: 'I was treated worse than an animal'

Virginity tests and hymen restoration procedures are on the rise in the UK. Some patients who have had these procedures say it’s because of forced marriage.

Women’s charities have told Sky News they are seeing a sharp rise in the number of young women seeking help after being forced into taking virginity tests by their own families.

Campaigners want these tests and a surgical procedure which claims to restore a woman’s virginity to be made illegal.

Sky News understands the government is considering legislation to ban the practice.

A warning that you may find some parts of his report distressing.
