6 Unseen images of Mars shared by NASA
A small rock, similar to a flower or coral, was captured by the Curiosity rover on February 24 in the Gale Crater. The rock was formed billions of years ago when it was cemented by minerals and water.
In April 2021, the Ingenuity helicopter captured a color photograph of Mars from an altitude of 16 feet. This marked the first time a rotorcraft on Mars took a color image while in flight.
A bear-like face is visible on Mars’ surface in the latest image taken by Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter’s HiRISE camera.
This image of Mars' Valles Marineris hemisphere, captured on July 9, 2013, is a composite created from 102 images taken by the Viking Orbiter.
NASA's Curiosity rover uses two cameras to take a selfie in front of a 20-foot-tall rock formation called Mont Mercou.
The image showcases the Curiosity rover standing at the Quela drilling site in the Murray Buttes area on lower Mount Sharp. The image was taken in 2016.
