On Sunday night, a shooting occurred in the parking lot of a Six Flags Great America amusement park in Gurnee, Illinois, around 45 miles from Chicago.
According to police, none of the victims passed away, and none of their injuries are serious.
A statement posted on Facebook by the Gurnee Police says, the department started receiving 911 calls about 7:50 p.m. indicating shots fired outside the theme park, which shuts at 8 p.m. According to the press release, "Gurnee Police Officers promptly arrived to the location and found the suspect car departed the scene."
"This evening's gunshot was not a random act; instead, it seemed to be a deliberate incident that took place outside the park. According to the statement, there was no active shooter situation within the park. Visitors to Six Flags Great America were assisted in leaving the park by park security after the incident.
