What are Putin’s intentions?

President Putin has said Russia does not want conflict with Ukraine but has insisted that he wants guarantees that NATO will not expand further to the east.

The Russian President made the comments at his end of year news conference earlier, addressing concerns that he is preparing to invade Ukraine for a second time.

The Foreign Secretary condemned what she called Russia’s ‘aggressive and inflammatory’ rhetoric and said NATO and the G7 countries are united in supporting Ukraine.
