War films like Pearl Harbor, Top Gun, or even The Incredible Hulk have trained audiences to associate military bases with big explosions. I blame Michael Bay for this, because anybody who’s spent any real time at a military base knows that they’re usually pretty tame.
However, there are quite a few cases of explosions on these military bases, and unlike the movies these didn’t come in times of war. Everything seemed normal and then BOOM – disaster struck and affected hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians.
We’ve seen these explosions in the Ukraine, Israel, Iraq, Russia, Germany, the U.S., and dozens of other countries.
