French ex-diplomat Gerard Araud suggests a “strategic partnership” between Australia and France has been thrown away after Canberra instead signed a submarine deal with the UK and the US.
“We have been undercut in what we considered as a very important political choice.” he says.
“And we have been undercut by our closest allies. The way it has been done is amazing. We were not consulted, we were not warned.”
