Australia wanted to ‘humiliate’ Novak Djokovic, says player’s father

Novak Djokovic’s dad has urged people to “rise up” against the decision to bar the world’s best tennis player from entering Australia.

Srdjan Djokovic said the Australian government wanted to “humiliate” his son in a row over playing in the country and says he’s being held “in prison”.

The world’s best player was barred from competing in the Australian Open and is set to be deported on Monday after entering the country without the necessary vaccine waiver.
