R&B singer Trey Songz’s bodyguard Cornell Whitfield is the latest Western tourist to run afoul of the sharia-based judicial system in Dubai, one of the seven emirates that make up the federation of the United Arab Emirates. NY Post reporter Dana Kennedy shares this story.
Miami native Whitfield, 40, who has acted as a bodyguard for many celebrities including Lil’ Kim, Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs and San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel, was sentenced to a year in prison last week for allegedly “slapping” a male fan who tried to reach out and touch Songz last March at a Dubai hotel.
Whitfield, the father of a young son, is just one in a long line of Westerners who’ve found themselves facing a nightmare of red tape, arrests and sometim...

The death toll from the collision in the southeastern state of Andhra Pradesh has risen to 14, with at least 50 injured, a railway official said on Monday (October 30). The accident occurred when the Visakhapatnam-Rayagada passenger train stopped on Sunday because of a break in an overhead cable and the Visakhapatnam-Palasa Express service rammed into it from the rear, derailing two carriages of the stationary train.
The railway ministry said a preliminary investigation found that "human error" led to "overshooting of signal" by the Visakhapatnam-Rayagada train.
The accident came months after India's state-run railway system suffered its worst crash in two decades when 292 people were killed.

An Ohio social worker who was accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old boy in her care showed up with a gun at the child’s home — where she blamed the family for “ruining her life” and allegedly threatened to kill the teen’s mom and herself.
Payton Shires, 24, of Mount Sterling, was charged with unlawful sexual conduct with a minor on Oct. 6 after she allegedly admitted to the disturbing behavior during a call with the boy’s mom and Columbus detectives.
But Shires landed in more trouble about 5:30 p.m. Thursday when she showed up at the teen’s home with a gun, WBNS reported. His mother was away but noticed the young woman on the porch via her doorbell camera, according to the station.
Responding officers found Shires sitting with a gun pointed at her head a...

A man was hauled out of campaign event in Houston after he bombarded Hillary Clinton with questions about her husband Bill Clinton’s trips to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s private island.
The ruckus went down Friday while Clinton was in Texas campaigning on behalf of Democrat Mayoral candidate Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee.
“Hey, Hillary. Why did your husband visit Epstein Island 26 times?” said the man, later identified as Alex Rosen.
His questions were promptly drowned out by a chorus of boos and chanting from the crowd.
Rosen, 23, was later surrounded by security and physically dragged from the venue.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in no uncertain terms Monday said Israel will not oblige calls for a cease-fire as it takes on Hamas.
"I want to make clear Israel's position regarding the cease-fire," he said, going on to draw parallels to the United States' response to the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the 9/11 World Trade Center terrorist attack.
The PM said that just like the US after those assaults, "Israel will not agree to a cessation of hostilities with Hamas after the horrific attacks of October 7.
“Calls for a cease-fire or calls for Israel to surrender to Hamas, to surrender to terrorists, surrender to barbarism, that will not happen,” Netanyahu said during a briefing for foreign media at the defense ministry in Tel Aviv on Monday evening local tim...

Authorities are looking for the person whose donation to a Wisconsin Goodwill last week included ammunition and a live explosive device, kicking off a bomb scare and evacuations of the area.
Employees of the thrift store in the city of Janesville outside Madison made the startling discovery Friday morning while inventorying donated items, prompting the evacuation of an entire city block for more than two and a half hours while authorities investigated, police said.
The Dane County Bomb Squad was dispatched to the scene and collected the explosive device, identified by police as a “cluster bomblet,” to be safely destroyed, authorities said.
“Employees quickly followed safety protocols by informing store and donation center management and safety teams who then...

The US military has announced it will try to develop a new nuclear bomb more than 20 times more powerful than the one dropped on Hiroshima, Japan, in August 1945 that led to the end of World War II.
A Defense Department fact sheet says the new weapon, dubbed the B61-13, would have a blast yield similar to the B61-7 bomb’s 360 kilotons of TNT.
By comparison, the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima had a blast yield of 15 kilotons of TNT — making the new bomb 24 times more powerful.
The creation of the B61-13 must first be approved and funded by Congress.
If that happens, manufacture of the new weapon would be the job of the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration.

Gov. Kathy Hochul talked tough about antisemitic threats at Cornell University Monday, but failed to call out a professor at the school who went viral for calling Hamas’ attack “exhilarating.”
In a speech at the school, Hochul called for criminal charges against those who made online threats to slit the throats of Jewish students, as she danced around the issue of Russell Rickford, who called Hamas’ sick killings “energizing.”
“Ensuring that we have the right of free speech, we’ll always protect that,” Hochul said following a roundtable with Cornell president Martha Pollack. “But when speech crosses over into hate speech and into hate crimes, that’s when we have to make sure that students know that we’ll step up and protect them.”

The Hamas terror group is blocking hundreds of Americans who are stuck inside the Gaza Strip from leaving the territory, a senior State Department official said Monday.
The situation is a grim twist on the pro-Palestinian talking point that Israel runs Gaza as an “open-air prison” — despite not controlling the area since 2005.
With Israel readying its forces to ramp up its ground invasion following Hamas’ slaughter of more than 1,400 people — including at least 33 Americans — on Oct. 7, US officials are working overtime to secure the release of Americans who wish to leave before hostilities intensify.
“There has been an intensive State Department-led effort to work with all relevant stakeholders, which include Israel, Egypt, the United Nations and Hamas, who...

A pro-Palestinian activist posted a shocking video of himself releasing hordes of spray-painted mice into a McDonald’s in the UK, as he shouted “F—k Israel” in front of panicked customers.
The clip captioned “Enjoy your rat burgers” begins with the man, who is wearing a Palestinian flag on his head, opening the trunk of his car, which displays license plates reading “PAIISTN – Free Palestine.”
He removes a box filled with mice painted red, green, and white — which he then dumps onto the floor of the McDonald’s in Birmingham, according to LBC.
The rodents scurry throughout the eatery amid screams by the shocked customers.

Israel said Tuesday its forces attacked Hamas gunmen inside the Islamists’ vast tunnel network beneath Gaza, after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed calls for a halt to fighting to ease the Palestinian enclave’s humanitarian crisis.
The tunnels are a key objective for Israel as it expands ground operations inside Gaza to wipe out the ruling Hamas movement following its rampage three weeks ago that Israeli authorities say killed over 1,400 people.
“Over the last day, combined IDF combat forces struck approximately 300 targets, including anti-tank missile and rocket launch posts below shafts, as well as military compounds inside underground tunnels belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement.

Israeli forces, backed by armoured vehicles, were seen operating in southern Israel on Tuesday (October 31) four days after they began a major ground offensive in the Palestinian enclave that has drawn more international calls for civilians to be protected.
Israel said its forces fought Hamas gunmen inside the militants' vast tunnel network beneath the besieged Palestinian enclave of Gaza, seeking to free hostages and to push forward its campaign to wipe out the militant group.
As the battle inside Gaza intensified, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed calls for a halt to the fighting.
Militants responded with anti-tank missiles and machine gun fire, it said. A number of militants were killed, it said, without specifying a number.

Chilling video shows the moment a crazed neighbor executed a father and his stepson in cold blood in a Brooklyn apartment hallway during an argument over noise Sunday night.
The distressing footage obtained by The Post opens with a man dressed in all black pacing angrily outside his upstairs neighbors’ apartment on the fourth floor of 1418 Brooklyn Ave. in a well-known East Flatbush housing complex where stars Barbra Streisand and Michael K. Williams grew up.
A woman emerges from the apartment and exchanges words with the neighbor. A short time later, she is joined by her son, identified by cops as 27-year-old Chinwai Mode. The video has no audio, so it is unknown what was said during the exchange.
Moments later, Mode’s stepfather, 47-year-old school bus dri...

A British courier who was filmed huffing down a nitrous oxide balloon before driving his van into a ravine and killing his teenage cousin was sentenced to nearly eight years in prison Monday.
Cameron Hughes, 23, was under the influence of laughing gas and using his phone when he “failed to negotiate” a bend on a highway north of Manchester in July, plunging his Mercedes Sprinter van into a ravine 15 feet below, Lancashire Constables said in a press release.
Hughes’ passenger and cousin Bonny Barrow, 15, suffered serious injures and died a day later, police said. He was relatively unharmed.

One of the final social media posts of a woman, killed in an alleged domestic violence incident at one of Australia’s most luxurious hotels, showed she was “loving life” before her untimely end.
The body of 34-year-old family law barrister Alice Rose McShera was found at Crown Towers Perth, in Burswood, on Monday morning.
On her Facebook page on Sunday, McShera had posted about staying at the hotel, telling followers she was “spending the night before my next surgery … drinking Dom (Perignon champagne), watching old DVDs, and loving life.”
She thanked her best friend for the hotel stay, a fellow lawyer she referred to as “Lawyer of the Year.”
Cameron John Pearson, 42, fronted Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning, charged with McShera’s murder.

A long-shot bid to disqualify former President Donald Trump from appearing on Colorado's 2024 ballots began in a Denver courtroom on Monday.
The case will test a rarely-used, Civil War-era provision of the U.S. Constitution that bars people who have engaged in "insurrection or rebellion" from holding federal office.
Plaintiffs’ attorney Scott Olson argued Trump assembled a violent mob at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 that tried to prevent the constitutional transfer of power.
"And we are here because Trump claims, after all that he has the right to be president again. But our Constitution and our shared charter of our nation says he cannot do so. And Colorado law says this court must ensure that only eligible candidates appear on our ballots."
Trump face...
