Overview
Big, bold, and brazen, the Cadillac Escalade is all about presence. Despite sharing similar underpinnings with the downmarket GMC Yukon and Chevrolet Suburban, Caddy’s supersized flagship plays in the full-size luxury SUV big leagues and lays the opulence on thick. All three of the Escalade’s rows are decked out in top-notch materials, and its tech-laden forward cabin serves as a cushy command post. If even more space is needed, a long-wheelbase ESV model ups both third-row legroom and cargo space.
There’s no getting around the fact that the Escalade is a hefty beast. But formidable handling, a glassy-smooth ride, and the choice of two muscular V-8 powertrains make it feel more capable than other high-dollar rivals such as the Lexus LX600 and Lincoln Navigator.
Expert Tip: While the Escalade has evolved beyond its original position as a gussied-up GMC Yukon, that model (and both the Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe) offer more utility and cost far less, even with options.
What’s New for 2026?
With the Escalade fresh off its 2025 facelift, there aren’t many changes for the 2026 model year. The Escalade’s trim lineup gets shuffled slightly to make room for a new base model, and the Premium Luxury trim is gone. Last year’s Premium Luxury Platinum model now goes by the name Platinum Luxury, and Sport Platinum has had its name switched around to be Platinum Sport. Vibrant White Tricoat and Magnus Metal Frost are now both optional colors, but the latter is available only on the range-topping V-Series model.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
First Row: As the flagship of the Cadillac lineup, the Escalade ups the ante on in-cabin luxury. Faux leather is used in the base Luxury trim, but all other trims receive the real deal, with Platinum models getting extra-soft semi-aniline hides. Leather-covered dash and door panels, aluminum speaker grilles, and adjustable interior ambient lighting provide an upscale appearance, although some switchgear is shared with lesser GM models.
