Tens of thousands of people have fled Ethiopia to escape ethnic persecution as civil war rages in the Tigray region.
Most have nothing and have walked for up to 12 days in the blistering heat with little food to get to the border with Sudan.
There, they are given a wristband, which entitles them to basic provisions at a refugee camp last used during Ethiopia’s famine in the 1980s.
