In 1997, a phone on an American radio show rang. A man on the other end of the line introduced himself as Mel Waters and told the story of how he found a bottomless pit while fishing. Some people believe the hole goes all the way down to the center of our planet, and others go so far to think it’s a secret portal to another dimension. A few people think Mel’s hole is a spot where space and time are warped. So, what is it in reality, and how deep are some other famous holes in the world?
