Geraldo Rivera leaves Fox News after 23 years

News- US
http://youtu.be/IOE8Q2k33g4 Longtime correspondent Geraldo Rivera announced Thursday that he is leaving Fox News after working there for more than two decades. Rivera said he was canned from his co-hosting gig on the network’s political panel talk show “The Five” and made the decision to leave the network as a result. “I’ve been fired from ‘The Five’ and as a result of that, I quit Fox,” he said in a video taken from his boat and posted to Twitter Thursday. Rivera, 79, added that he will appear on “Fox & Friends” Friday morning to discuss more details of his departure from the network he has worked at since 2001 — when he was hired as a war correspondent. “After 23 years tomorrow Fox and Friends could be my last appearance on the network,” he wrote on Twitter. “Thanks for the memo...

Stabbing of Canadian professor and 2 students was ‘motivated by hate’ over ‘gender identity’: cops

News- US
http://youtu.be/4CxafmmBMY4 The university graduate who stabbed a gender-studies professor and two of her students was “motivated by hate” over “gender identity,” according to Canadian cops. Geovanny Villalba-Aleman, a 24-year-old recent graduate originally from Ecuador, was hit with multiple charges on Thursday for the triple stabbing a day earlier at the University of Waterloo. Police declared it “a hate-motivated incident” as the university confirmed the targeted professor was Katy Fulfer, 38, a “feminist philosopher” whose courses have also included “Adventures in Queer Studies.” “Investigators have reason to believe that this was a planned and targeted attack motivated by hate related to gender expression and gender identity,” Waterloo Regional Police Chief Mark Crowell said. Shoplifting in NYC so bad that pints of ice cream now have anti-theft lids

News- US
http://youtu.be/4w8_JViK3WI Shoplifters are running so wild in the Big Apple, pints of high-end ice cream now have special locked lids to thwart cold-hearted crooks. The Fairway supermarket on the Upper West Side is guarding $6 cartons of Häagen-Dazs with bolted plastic tops — which can only be removed with a device at the register. A sign in the freezer section gives shoppers the scoop on why there’s now a barrier on the popular summertime sweets. “To help maintain the lowest possible cost, a protective lock has been placed on some units of ice cream,” it reads. Web designer speaks out after Supreme Court ruling

News- US
http://youtu.be/U4NB61l6Jn4 The Supreme Court ruled Friday that an evangelical Christian web designer could not be forced to work on wedding sites celebrating same-sex couples because it would violate her First Amendment right against compelled speech. The 6-3 decision settled the 2016 case brought by Lorie Smith, 39, who sued the Colorado Civil Rights Commission over the state’s anti-discrimination laws that barred her from advertising that she won’t create websites for couples of the same sex. But the high court found that to compel Smith to make sites “celebrating other marriages she does not” would be “an impermissible abridgment of the First Amendment’s right to speak freely,” Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote for the majority. Under Colorado’s Anti-Discrimination Act, businesses are bar...

http://youtu.be/AcfHtKsgrj8 Authorities in France beefed up efforts to quell widespread unrest over the deadly police shooting of a 17-year-old that continued to engulf the country for a fourth evening, with more 1,300 protestors being arrested as cars and buildings were set ablaze and stores looted. France’s Interior Ministry announced the 1,311 arrests countrywide — with 45,000 police officers fanned out in a so-far unsuccessful bid to curb violence — as family and friends prepared Saturday to bury the teen of Algerian and Moroccan descent, identified only as Nahel, in the Paris suburb of Nanterre, where he resided and was killed Tuesday when a cop fired on him during a traffic stop. Video shows knife-wielding maniac stalking pizzeria worker, later tries to set him on fire

News- US
http://youtu.be/8tZ9Lt0HnnY Chilling video captured a knife-wielding man allegedly stalking a California pizzeria worker in a restaurant kitchen — before dousing him with lighter fluid and trying to set him on fire. The frightening incident happened Sunday afternoon at Allegro Pizza in Thousand Oaks, where the employee was preparing pies for his shift, KABC-TV reported. As the cook chopped lettuce about 1:45 p.m., the creep — with his little dog in tow — walked in through the back door at East Avenida De Los Arboles, grabbed one of the knives and began following him, pizza joint owner Raul Ferrero told the outlet. News- US
http://youtu.be/DNPvXvs75qA Martial arts rookie Elon Musk was pictured Tuesday sparring during an “impromptu” training session for his potential cage match with Mark Zuckerberg. Podcaster, AI researcher and Brazilian jiujitsu black belt Lex Fridman tweeted photos of Musk holding him in a headlock and flipping him onto his back on Tuesday. “I did an impromptu training session with @elonmusk for a few hours yesterday. I’m extremely impressed with his strength, power and skill, on the feet and on the ground,” Fridman wrote in the post. “It was epic.” Musk replied: “That was fun!” Fridman’s photos showed Musk executing moves that were a far cry from “The Walrus,” which he jokingly shared last week is “where I just lie on top of my opponent & do nothing.” Read more at https://nypost.c...

Trump brings defamation suit against E. Jean Carroll over rape claim

News- US
http://youtu.be/mgAAOapHTrY Donald Trump has filed a defamation suit against E. Jean Carroll, alleging the writer falsely accused him of rape — after a Manhattan federal jury found the former president liable for sexual assault in her civil case against him. Trump, 77, filed counterclaims against the former “Ask E. Jean” advice columnist on Tuesday accusing her of defaming him when she maintained in a CNN interview that he raped her, despite the jury only determining he should be on the hook for sexual abuse. Carroll, 79, “made these statements knowing each of them were false or with reckless disregard for their truth and falsity,” the filing alleges. Jurors on May 9 awarded Carroll a $5 million verdict in the case, finding Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation for claiming in O...

Biden says Putin losing ‘war in Iraq’ in latest gaffe

News- US
http://youtu.be/xqftb3Q6hLA President Biden said Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin was losing the “war in Iraq” when he meant to say Ukraine — the second time in about 12 hours he mixed up the two war-torn nations. Biden, 80, is the oldest-ever US president and is running for re-election next year — with his mental acuity already a major campaign issue. “[Putin’s] clearly losing the war in Iraq. He’s losing the war at home and he has become a bit of a pariah around the world,” Biden told reporters on the White House lawn as he departed for a day trip to Chicago. On Tuesday night, the president made the exact same error while speaking at a fundraiser in Chevy Chase, Md. “Think about this,” Biden said. “If anybody told you — and my staff wasn’t so sure, either — that we’d ...

Delta flight with 96 passengers aboard screeches across runway in North Carolina emergency landing

News- US
http://youtu.be/lacZldvDNI4 A Delta flight made an emergency landing at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina on Wednesday, hitting the runway on its underside, according to reports. The Boeing 717 carrying 96 passengers, two pilots and three flight attendants out of Atlanta hit the ground turbulently without its front landing gear properly deployed — but there were no reported injuries. A video of the ordeal taken by a remarkably calm traveler inside the plane shows nervously silent passengers all holding the seats in front of them and resting their heads against them while bracing for impact. “That was not bad at all,” the man said after the plane hit the runway and scraped and skidded its way to a halt. News- US
http://youtu.be/Dp0tQfG_elA WASHINGTON — President Biden angrily insisted Wednesday he had nothing to do with son Hunter’s threatening WhatsApp text message to a Chinese businessman — in which the scion said the elder Biden was in the room and expecting action. “How involved were you in your son’s Chinese shakedown text message?” The Post asked Biden on the White House lawn as he departed for a day trip to Chicago. The 80-year-old president smiled broadly and turned his head as if to accept a question from another reporter — a tactic he’s used before to duck difficult queries. Liquor store clerk foiled by video after allegedly stealing winning $3M ticket

News- US
http://youtu.be/9k9UrWLR-Cg A Massachusetts liquor store clerk allegedly stole and tried to cash out a winning $3 million lottery ticket – but her alleged plot was foiled when officials watched the surveillance video. Carly Nunes, 23, of Lakeville, sold Paul Little two State Lottery Quick Picks for the Mega Millions lottery and two for the Mass Cash lottery along with a bag of chips on Jan. 17, CNN reported. But the boat mechanic — who added a multiplier to his Mega Millions ticket to increase the jackpot prize — forgot to take the tickets, which another customer noticed and handed back to Nunes about 45 minutes later, prosecutors said. Residents in the city of Nago on the island of Okinawa woke up to find the port area looking rather “venomous” on Tuesday. Video footage shared on Twitter showed the large body of water with a deep red color, leaving many alarmed. “The red does look venomous, but it’s a relief to learn it’s just food coloring and not likely to cause major damage,” a Twitter user wrote. The usually clear blue water changed color after a beer plant owned by Orion Breweries Ltd sprung a leak. http://youtu.be/L354qTpPuu4 An Amtrak train carrying 190 passengers derailed Wednesday after striking a truck on tracks in Southern California, and only minor injuries were reported, authorities said. Three of the train's seven cars went off the tracks following the collision in Moorpark, said Ventura County Fire Department Captain Brian McGrath. The number of people hurt wasn't immediately known, but all the injuries were characterized as minor, McGrath said. Parts of the demolished truck were still on the tracks, while other sections lay near the derailed train cars. The truck's driver had only minor injuries and it appears he got out before the collision, McGrath said. The derailed train cars remained upright on a section of track adjacent to an orchard and bare sections of land. ...

News- US
http://youtu.be/51QwvAIDwQw President Biden’s younger brother revealed Wednesday that he has spoken to the commander in chief about using psychedelic drugs to treat addiction — and that the 80-year-old is “very open-minded” about it. Frank Biden told Michael Smerconish, host of SiriusXM’s “The Michael Smerconish Program,” that his battle with alcoholism led him to explore the possibility of whether psychedelics — including LSD, ketamine and ayahuasca, which he referred to as “the godfather of them all” — could be used as medicine to treat mental health issues that lead to addiction. “I have done a great deal of research, because I’m a recovering alcoholic for many, many years,” the 69-year-old first brother told Smerconish. “I have looked into, as a result of doing lots of research, ...

News- US
http://youtu.be/-o9qQWIyjAY Mayor Eric Adams did not take kindly to one of his constituents wagging her finger at him and criticizing him for the city’s new rent increase rules Wednesday, likening her behavior to that of a plantation owner. The showdown took place at a community conversation event Adams hosted at Gregorio Luperon High School for Science and Mathematics in Washington Heights. In footage from the meeting, Adams can be heard asking the woman to stand up after she interrupts him to call out that he “raised the rent.” Adams’ administration came under fire last week, when the Rent Guidelines Board voted to allow rent hikes of up to 6 percent on the Big Apple’s one million rent-stabilized apartments. How NASA recycles astronaut sweat and pee — for drinking water

News- US
http://youtu.be/91dGNrede4I NASA has invented a system in which both astronaut urine and sweat are made into safe drinking water while up and away in the final frontier of space. “The team acknowledges that the idea of drinking recycled urine might make some people squeamish,” according to the space agency. “But they stress that the end result is far superior to what municipal water systems produce on the ground.” Currently being tested onboard the International Space Station, the Urine Processor Assembly “recovers water from urine using vacuum distillation.” From there, the system “produces water and a urine brine that still contains some reclaimable water” as it undergoes another process to “extract” the remaining wastewater.
