The move will see thousands of bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants close in the capital, except for takeaway, delivery and click and collect services.
Under Tier 3 measures, people must not meet socially indoors, in private gardens, or at most outdoors public venues with anyone they do not live with or are not in a support bubble with.

Ghislaine Maxwell will propose a nearly $30 million bail package in hopes of getting sprung from a Brooklyn lockup — and will finally admit she’s a married woman, according to reports.
The accused Jeffrey Epstein madam is expected to go to court in the coming days in a bid to be freed before Christmas, the Telegraph first reported.
Roughly $25 million of the hefty package will be backed by Maxwell’s rumored husband, tech CEO Scott Borgerson — whose identity the British heiress refused to reveal at an initial bail hearing over the summer.
The upcoming bail application will be the first time Maxwell will publicly acknowledge she is married, ABC News reported.
Friends told the Telegraph that Borgerson is devastated that Maxwell has remained jailed at the Metro...

A long-unsolved puzzle sent by the Zodiac Killer to the San Francisco Chronicle has finally been cracked by a team of coding experts — revealing a taunting message in which the murderer scoffed that he wasn’t scared of being executed if caught, the paper said Friday.
“I hope you are having lots of fun in trying to catch me,” the killer wrote in the bizarre coded message — sent to the paper in 1969. “I am not afraid of the gas chamber because it will send me to paradise all the sooner because I now have enough slaves to work for me.”
The so-called ” 340 cipher”— a jumble of letters, numbers and symbols — doesn’t reveal the name of the still-unidentified killer, who terrorized northern California in the 1960s and 1970s.
But coding experts were thrilled to dem...

Half a million people were offered tests in November, including a new form of rapid lateral flow testing, carried out by NHS staff and the army.
It was the first city-wide scheme of its kind and a dry-run for Boris Johnson's "Operation Moonshot" - a billion-pound plan to provide regular, nationwide COVID-19 testing.

The Delaware computer shop owner at the heart of the Hunter Biden laptop saga has released a video defending himself against allegations that he’s a “Russian hacker” or spy.
John Paul Mac Isaac said he was “hired, never paid” to transfer information from a MacBook Pro to an external hard drive — which was later found to contain bombshell emails about Hunter Biden’s overseas business dealings.
“For two generations, the Mac Isaac family has fought for the entirety of the Cold War against communism in the ’70s,” Mac Isaac says in a 3-minute YouTube video titled “The truth” and posted Dec. 5.
“That’s why it’s completely absurd that why anyone would ever consider me to be a Russian agent or influenced by Russians. I am proud of my family, I’m proud of my country....
