Anyone who has ever been online has found out pretty quickly that there’s a dark side to the internet. People go behind their screens and lose all of their filters. And that’s especially true on Twitter.
And that’s especially especially true when people are talking about celebrities. This time it’s the likes of Zendaya and Kim Kardashian. What’s up guys it’s Emile Ennis Jr here with Clevver News.
And if you’ve ever been on the internet, you’ve probably seen Jimmy Kimmel’s segment where celebrity guests read mean tweets about themselves.
Well, Jimmy just released the 12th edition of his “mean tweet” series, which featured stars like Tiffany Haddish, Sarah Paulson, and Jake Gyllenhaal.
But three ladies in particular caught my eye in this video. Particularly, because of these three ladies, one mean tweet was kinda true. One mean tweet was very wrong. And one, well, I’ll just let you listen for yourself.
Alright then! And before you go ahead and call fake news on me and Jimmy Kimmel, yes, this was in fact a real tweet.
A real tweet from 2013.
In fact, the person even said “I somehow don’t remember that tweet in particular, but ok”
I mean, look, no shade to Kim K, but it’s crazy that they couldn’t find a mean tweet about her more recent than 2013. I’m sure some of the audience members at this year’s Emmys have some mean tweets up their sleeves.
Immediately following Kim was Maisie Williams, you know, badass Arya Stark from Game of Thrones
Sorry, spoilers, but if you haven’t heard about this scene by now then you’re living under a rock.
Anyway, the mean tweet about Maisie says “Maisie Williams looks like a very young grandma”
Sorry Maisie but this is the one that I think is true
But don’t take that as an insult because you’re like, the coolest grandma ever.
What other grandma could pull off pink hair and brown plaid?
What other grandma could look cool AF eating strawberries at Wimbledon?
What other grandma is bffs with Sofie Turner?
But even though you rock it, you’re still rocking grandma-chic
Which leads us to Zendaya. I mean, what could anyone ever say mean about Zendaya?
I see you flashing around your louboutins, Z!
And I mean, yeah, who can blame you.
If I had 3 thousand dollar pigalle style sparkle christian Louboutins, I’d be flashing them around every time I got on camera too!
But instead you can check out these.
So this is the one that obviously made no sense to me. Funyons? I mean, do you think Zendaya has ever even had funyons? She’s not going for those 99 cent bags at the store – she’s going for that 9.99 deluxe Gardetto’s, which is really just an expensive chex mix.
And she’s right! Her feet probably do smell like success. She probably walked those louboutins straight from the emmys to do this jimmy kimmel interview.
So next time you’re hating on a celeb online, just think: when was the last time I went to the emmys? How much do my shoes cost? Do I really want to plant poison ivy in my anus? And then close the twitter app and move on with your life.
All jokes aside, celebs are just regular people too, so it’s fun to see them react to these mean tweets. Of course I’m sure there are way worse tweets about them out there that would probably really hurt their feelings, but that wouldn’t be as fun to watch.
Mean Tweets are ok, emotionally devastating and confidence breaking tweets that would make celebs cry, not ok. But people would probably watch. I’ll pitch it to the higher ups.
